National Cyber Wellness Advocacy 2019
5 of our Cyber Wellness Ambassadors participated in the National Cyber Wellness Advocacy Challenge 2019 in term 2. In this Challenge, they were tasked to design an advocacy toolkit and outreach project to promote general well-being amongst their peers and families.
Our Cyber Wellness Ambassadors created a song and dance based on the theme of the challenge, ‘Academic Productivity & Well Being with Mobile Devices and Screen Time’. The song and dance encourages students to take regular breaks from the screen. The team did the school proud as they clinched a Silver award for this advocacy challenge.
National School Games Floorball Junior Division Boys and Girls Championship 2019
During the National School Games Floorball Junior Division Championship, our junior boys topped their group during the Classification round and proceeded to Tier 1 Round.
The boys competed against worthy opponents and came in fourth position in their group.
Our junior girls competed in their Classification round and came in third position and proceeded to Tier 2 round. They continued to persevere in their games and eventually topped their group.

Singapore Youth Festival Art Exhibition: Artist and Citizenship
Our budding young artist, Toh En Wei, Benjamin (Primary 1 Integrity) took part in this year’s Singapore Youth Festival Art Exhibition: Artist and Citizenship. His artwork entitled ”Love Differences” portrays the aliens being friends with one another despite coming from different planets. Throughout the entire art-making process, he took risks and experimented with materials, leading to new discoveries.
National Senior Boys Hockey Tournament - 5th Position
Our senior hockey boys competed in the National Hockey Tournament this year. Throughout the competition season, the players showed cohesion in their gameplay, composure and resilience when they faced challenges during the matches. We are proud to announce that our boys came in fifth position in this tournament.

Xishan Cub Scouts has been awarded Frank Cooper Sands Gold Award 2018 for unit excellence.
Tamil Language Competitions
Our students are highly encouraged to take part in various competitions in order to build their confidence in speaking the Tamil Language in their daily lives. This in turn enables them to improve their language skills in terms of speaking and writing. For this year, students took part in the Tamil Spelling Bee 2019 competition, (organised by Mediacorp News), Thirukkural Vizha 2019 and Muthamil Savaal 2019 (organised by Chong Pang CC).
Our students showed perseverance and hard work during the Tamil Spelling Bee Competition 2019. There were a total of 80 schools which took part in the competition and our students progressed till the semi-finals round. They acquired more knowledge and skills in understanding and using the Tamil Language.

National School Games Floorball Senior Division Boys and Girls Championship 2019
After four months of intense games against tough opponents, our Senior Floorball Boys earned a spot in the finals of the National School Games Floorball Senior Division Boys Championship 2019 to play against Stamford Primary School on the 25th April 2019. The Senior Boys were calm and composed despite the immense pressure and eventually won the game to be crowned the National Champion.
On the same day, the Senior Floorball Girls also faced off against a worthy opponent in the form of West View Primary School in the finals of the National School Games Floorball Senior Division Girls Championship 2019. The strong cohesion within the team held them steady to grind out a win and emerged as the National Champion as well.

2019 OPS BACA Competition (Malay Language Competition)
Ops Baca 2019 (Nee Soon GRC) was a competition organised by the Malay Activity Executive Committee (MAEC) of Chong Pang Community Club (CPCC) in collaboration with People’s Association Malay Activity Executive Committees Council (MESRA), supported and funded by the Malay Language Learning and Promotion Committee (MLLPC). Since its inception in 2018, Ops Baca is a platform for Primary 2 to Primary 5 students, to showcase their talents in stage performance based on different genres of Malay Language reading materials.
14 of our Malay Language students participated in the OPS Baca last Saturday, 13 April.

Outstanding All Rounder Student (OARS) Award
This award aims to recognise students studying in schools within the North West District who had achieved good academic performance and were active in CCA, community service and student leadership, and are well-liked and respected by their peers.
Two students from our 2018 Primary 6 level received this award.
